Barclays engaged us to help them persuade 40,000 international employees to adapt to changes in the appearance and navigation of their intranet – and present those changes as opportunity. In building Pulse we were effectively changing the home page for every person in the organisation.
Our Solution
Experience has taught us that new systems are often viewed with a mixture of optimism and suspicion. We worked with Barclays to create a strategic launch plan to maximise employee engagement. We set out to manage expectations, opening and maintaining a dialogue with the audience to ensure final adaptation and acceptance.
Successes and Achievements
We communicated the Pulse online value proposition (OVP) over a four-week period. The strategy encouraged users to explore the new site, instilled confidence in the new navigation and promoted intranet champions as a resource for users. Competitions that highlighted the new offering also helped increase adoption.
