Context
The Chartered Institute of Personnel Development (CIPD) is the established authority on human resources, actively providing guidance and setting standards in the field.
Challenge
CIPD asked us to build an online resource for Coaching at Work, a commercial venture that is a significant extension to their carefully developed brand portfolio. The site is complex and data rich, with content aimed at different user groups that the CIPD web team knew would access the site differently.
Solution
We identified audience needs and related them to CIPD’s business objectives. We structured the Coaching at Work site to direct each user group to the area relevant to them and implemented Verity K2 enterprise search technology. Content is set within a clear design framework that reflects the overall CIPD brand.
Outcome
www.cipd.co.uk/coachingatwork sits well within the CIPD brand; administrators and content providers find it easy to use. “We’ve been really pleased with how our team and the cScape team have worked together,” said CIPD’s E-Learning Manager, Karen Ver. “It’s been a really strong relationship, resulting in a great product delivered to very testing timescales.”
CIPD could view statistics tracking usage of site features immediately, which was critical in running a new subscription-based product.
