cScape creates website for the UK’s Carbon Trust

11/07/2006  Telecomworldwide

A website has been created for the Carbon Trust, a government funded company which helps UK business and the public sector cut down carbon emissions, by web agency cScape, as the first phase of a web development strategy.

cScape created the website which can be found at http://www.carbontrust.co.uk, to enable the Carbon Trust to demonstrate best practice and make businesses aware of the cost of carbon emissions and climate change. The new site is the first part of an online programme to boost awareness of carbon issues and put environmental concerns on the business agenda.

The website houses the largest online collection of free independent energy efficiency publications in the UK and cScape has added a Verity Ultraseek search engine to enable users to find information more easily. It has reconfigured Ultraseek to enable Carbon Trust’s authors to search by content type, topic and category, and allows the site to cross-sell of related products and services, such as publications and events, more easily.

The site also features an online shopping basket system, provides the facility for users to download publications such as .pdfs or order printed copies and allows them to register for events and apply for research grants. cScape has worked to strengthen the Carbon Trust’s online brand identity and plans to add knowledge centre to the site, providing background information on areas such as renewable energy and energy efficiency.
