cScape has been appointed to create the global 'Barclays in the community' website. The dynamic and engaging website, which is expected to include videos, blogs and user-generated content, will communicate Barclays' community investment, as well as encourage employees to get involved. The site will display the range of community programmes that Barclays runs and supports around the world, including income generation programmes, projects to support older people and the homeless.
cScape beat off fierce competition from a number of competitors and impressed Barclays with its proven track record in combining persuasive design, customer engagement and community building through web 2.0 tools. Debbie Phillips, Barclays global community investment manager, said: “Our community investment programme is extremely important to us, and we felt that cScape was the company with the right commitment to customer engagement and design expertise to meet our requirements and deliver an effective solution.”
Barclays was looking for a partner to deliver engaging web solutions for effective communication and customer retention, ensuring site users remain up-to-date with Barclays' ever-evolving community activities. Barclays employees are encouraged to get involved in local and global community projects and to help others do the same. They will be able to post messages about their experiences in a communities area. Barclays will also experiment with the latest video content technologies and flash animation to achieve a cutting-edge look and feel.
